Magneto's right, there is a war coming. Are you sure you're on the right side? (Wolverine)
A remake of the original piece done by Marvel artist Joe Madureira (line work) and colored by Hanna. This artwork was an add for Pizza Hut, in which Marvel was sponsered with for several years back in the '90's, it can be seen in many of the X-men comics during that time as an advertisement.
Having done serval D.C. fanwork pieces, I had wanted to do a Marvel one for quite some time and found this artwork in one of my old comics. So I decided to run with it and see if I could not only redraw the line work with my own style, but add in highlights and glows, giving it a revised color scheme. Like many of the comic back in the 90's, they only dealt with 'flats' in terms of color and added very few shades or highlights, the original piece was no exception.
After a months worth of work I finally give you: (from left to right) Gambit, Rogue, Beast, Jean Greay, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jubilee, Storm and Bishop. The true X-Men of the 90's. Though there have been movies, games, anime versions and anything else you can think of, there has never been a feeling I got when I would watch X-Men the animated series Saturday mornings on Fox as a kid. The catchy intro, the wierd stories, the voice actors...it was really something special and never will be duplicated. The X-Men of the 90's were the best that was, the best that is and the best that ever will be.
